I did some YouTubing this week to really understand the nature of quicksand. I used to see it in movies and think well quicksand is mostly the end of you.
However what I learned this week is that quicksand is not usually as deep as you think it is… and if you simply stop fighting it… and lean back, you can redistribute your weight and usually get out or work your way to the side to get yourself out.
So what does this have to do with us being stuck? Seems to me, our stories can be like quicksand… we sit in them and resist them and push against them… and we seem more stuck than ever… Then we feel hopeless like things will never change unless someone comes along to pull us out.
What if we just relax… accept where we are in the moment and by doing so.. be able to step out of in in a big way?
Our stories can both serve us and not serve us… however, they seem to be better able to serve us when we are not stuck in the middle of them.
So how has it been this week getting out of the quicksand? Are you ready and willing to climb out and see what the rest of the landscape has to offer?
